ANALISIS KADAR TIMBAL (Pb) PADA KUKU TUKANG LAS DI KECAMATAN MOJOROTO KOTA KEDIRI

Abstract


Dust exposure from the welding industry can cause heavy metal to accumulate in the body. Pb metal is closely related to its accumulation in tissues, causing disruption of physiological processes both directly and indirectly at the molecular level. Pb has a chronic effect, this is because Pb that enters the respiratory tract and the digestive tract can enter the blood will inhibit heme synthesis. As a result, Pb can reduce blood Hb production which can result in the emergence of other health disorders. This study aims to determine the level of lead on welders' nails and the effect on the working period of welders in Mojoroto District, Kediri City. The sample used in this study is nails because nails can be an indicator for Pb metal pollution both internally and directly. The design in this study is based on a time approach that is using a cross sectional survey design and data taken using the quota sampling method. The method used to analyze Pb levels in nail samples is Spectrophotometry, using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. From the results of the analysis, the results of Pb levels in nails with years of service (<3, 3-5,> 5) were equal to (0.0266 0.0449, 0.0550) ppm. This study used the kruskal wallis test to determine the effect of Pb levels based on the length of work period divided into 3 groups, namely (<3, 3-5,> 5) years. The results obtained showed that Pb levels in nails had a value of p = 0.304> α (0.05). this shows that H0 is accepted and H1 is rejected, which means that there is no effect between the Pb level on the nail based on the length of work period.
