PENGARUH HORMON NAPTHALEN ACETIC ACID TERHADAP INISIASI AKAR PADA MAHKOTA TANAMAN NANAS (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.)
Abstract
Pineapple (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr) is one of the potential fruit commodities to be cultivated. The constraints of pineapple cultivation are the limited supply of seeds in large quantities. Therefore, there needs to be innovation to accelerate the cultivation of pineapple plants by using crowns of pineapple treated with the auxin hormone. One type of auxin hormone is Napthalen Acetic Acid (NAA). These hormones are a key role in stimulating lateral/side root growth, inducing cell expansion, and initiation of rooting. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of NAA concentration on the initiation of pineapple crown root formation. The study design used was a complete randomized design with three replications. The concentrations of NAA hormones used are 0 ppm, 0.2 ppm, 0.4 ppm, 0.6 ppm, and 0.8 ppm. The observation parameters were root length and number of roots which were then analyzed using SPPS 24. Based on the results of the study it was found that NAA concentrations could initiate the formation of pineapple crown roots. 0.6 ppm NAA concentration is the best concentration to initiate rooting of pineapple crowns.
