SINTESIS ARANG AKTIF DARI BONGGOL JAGUNG TERAKTIVASI HCl

Abstract


Research on the synthesis of activated carbon from 4 N HCl corncobs had been carried out. The number of industries that develop produce liquid waste which is discharged in the river or aquatic environment cause the Pb content in the environment increase. Corncobs are biomass from agricultural waste that has not been widely used. Maked corncobs into activated charcoal was the one way to reduce Pb content in the aquatic environment as an adsorbent. The results of activated carbon by using HCl had a optimum from time variation was 30 minutes. It had the iodine number of 595,35 mg/g and the ability of adsorption on 0,1 gram corncobs activated carbon to Pb was 50 ppm. These meaned perfectly absorbed, around to 100%.
